Plan parking for the centre, Rozafa Castle and lake-side stops rather than repeatedly moving between tightly timed visits. Ask your accommodation about unloading and parking and allow time to explore on foot.
Check mountain extensions individually
For Theth or other rural destinations, verify current weather, road conditions and rental permissions. A vehicle category alone cannot establish suitability. Do not assume a route is open or appropriate throughout the year.
Arrange border travel in advance
A visit to Shkodër does not automatically permit travel into Montenegro. Discuss documents and approval before departure. Airport return remains in Tirana, so leave room for stops and any unpredictable border delays in your overall plan.
